Policies & Guidelines
One of SweetStx's core values is the safety, health and well-being of all members of the field hockey and lacrosse communities. Many of the recommendations made below are based upon rules and regulations, guidelines and considerations set forth by public health authorities in support of sports organizations. The guidelines are in place to protect players, staff, and spectators. Given the fluid nature of this situation, SweetStx will continue to monitor the information from federal, state and local health authorities, and will provide updates as the become available.
General Guidelines
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offers general guidelines and recommendations for the public on how to limit the spread of COVID-19. They currently include:

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and exercise equipment including balls
  • Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds use an alocohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol
  • Wear a cloth face covering that covers your nose and mouth in public settings
  • Stay at least 6-feet away from non-household members
  • Do not attend events if you are sick or feeling unwell. this goes for all players, staff, and spectators
  • Wear a cloth face covering that covers your nose and mouth in public settings

  • Stay at least 6-feet away from non-household members
  • Cover mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing
  • Do not attend events if you are sick or feeling unwell.
SweetStx Guidelines
SweetStx will adhere to the following guidelines. Any guidelines set forth by the host facility will be followed and will take precedence over any SweetStx policies that may run counter to the host facility policy.

  • Groups will be limited to 10 (ten) players or less
  • Coaches count separately and no more than 2 (two) coaches will be assigned per group
  • Attendance is limited to those who can confirm no symptoms of COVID-19 for the past 14 (fourteen) days no contact with anyone sick in the 14 (fourteen) days
  • Changes to groups and cross-group play will be as minimal as possibl
  • Masks are required at registration and throughout the duration of the event
  • Spectators are limited to 1 (one) parent and/or guardian per athlete and must maintain 6 (six) feet social distancing at all times
  • SweetStx staff, including those hired for the event, will handle all shared equipment (balls, cones, cages, etc.)
  • Athletes are responsible for bringing their own equipment including a water bottle(s), personal hygiene products (hand sanitizer, mask) and all other sports related equipment
  • Social distancing will be maintained during each rotation and will be maintained for the event
  • High fives, fist bumps, team huddles and handshakes are discourage
  • Players are permitted to use bathroom facilities on site and will be limited to 1-2 (one to two) players and/or staff at a time depending on the size of the bathroom facilities
  • Masks are required
Sweetstx Registration Policies
The following criteria will be used during the registration process:

  • Pre-Arrival: no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 for the past 14 (fourteen) days and no contact with anyone sick in the 14 (fourteen) days
  • Arrival at Site: Temperature check will be conducted on site at registration
  • Athletes, staff, and spectators with signs or symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent home
  • No refunds will be provided if an athlete shows signs or symptoms of COVID-19 and is sent home
  • One parent or guardian is permitted to accompany an athlete during the check-in process
  • Masks are required

River City Sportsplex Guidelines
All posted and published state and local guidelines shall be followed.

General Restrictions:

  • If you or your child is sick or feel sick, STAY HOME. At risk individuals, youth or adult, STAY HOME
  • If you or your child has a temperature higher than 100.4, STAY HOME
  • No one is to share water, towels, or any equipment. This includes, but is not limited to:
    Shoes, socks, shin guards, helmets, bats, catching equipment, pads, jerseys/uniforms
  • Only coaches should place and pick up cones
  • Practice vests/pinnies; at minimum should be washed after each use; Recommended issuing each player their own individual practice vest/pinnie
  • Each player should provide their own equipment or be assigned their own individual equipment by the league. If the leagues assign individual equipment to a player: This equipment should be kept by the player for the entire season and returned once the season is over
  • Players/parents become responsible for sanitation of equipment while in their possession
  • Assign a "station" for each player to place their equipment, that they can return to during breaks
  • No centralized hydration/water or refreshment stations (players should bring their own water bottles and/or snacks for personal use only)
  • Spectators should be limited and must maintain minimum social distancing, as defined by the CDC
  • Recommended having sanitizing options available (Hand sanitizer, Disinfectant wipes to be used to wipe down all equipment)Respect for each individual's choices must be a priority. If a participant wishes to wear a face mask this should be allowed, and accommodations made if needed.
  • No high fives, fist bumps, or team huddles
  • Report all incidents, illnesses, etc. to both the league and the Parks and Recreation Department by calling (804) 318-8721
